Don't come to Belgium
“We see increasing insecurity on the streets due to illegal immigrants as well as overcrowded reception centers. It is time for a change to the Australian model. "Don't come to Belgium!" states Young N-VA president Jeroen Bergers.
“The unrestrained flow of migration is costing society handsomely, and public support for even more illegal migration has completely disappeared. Deregulation, synchronized with a robust return policy, is needed to solve this asylum chaos. Under the current system where people pay a fortune to a people smuggler to cross the Mediterranean on a rickety boat, no one wins.
Asylum chaos under Vivaldi
The Vivaldi policy on asylum and migration is complete chaos. The waiting list of asylum seekers continues to grow, and return rates have halved under this government. Belgium has failed for months to provide shelter for asylum seekers. The tent camps on the streets, the squats, and the setting up of hotels and youth hostels as shelters are glaring proof of this. And that with a record budget rising to more than 1 billion euros. The government proclaimed a more humane asylum policy, but it has already been condemned by a court nearly 10,000 times for this. “It has even gone so far that furniture belonging to State Secretary Nicole de Moor (CD&V) and Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open VLD) was confiscated to pay out penalty payments to individual asylum seekers. This chaos cannot continue. Instead of making people blather about the promised land, we must finally make illegal migration impossible. We must make the shift to an Australian migration model.”
The N-VA stands for a strict asylum and migration policy. The current welcoming policy puts too much pressure on local governments, social institutions, and broader society.
